A Transport Statement is a simplified Transport Assessment and is used in some cases where transport issues arising out of development proposals may not require a full Transport Assessment.
Transport Statements cover the smaller scale developments where the traffic impact is limited in both volume and area impact.
The Department for Transport (March 2007) Document ‘Guidance on Transport Assessment’ is intended to assist all stakeholders in determining whether a Transport Assessment or Transport Statement may be required and, if so, what level and scope that assessment should include.
